My wife gives me a hard time right now because we have nothing comparable to 1 WTC in Austria so 1 WTC has to be simply jaw-dropping to folks like me. Interesting way of reasoning ;-) Antenna or spire: It does not add anything substantial to the building. Why bother to fix a spire to the roof? Just admit that you did not have the guts and/or money to realize a taller building.

Glad I could help. Now you do your part, learn and understand that the roofs are pretty difficult to determine on these new skyscraper designs (1990+). I don't want you to change of mind, just let you know the reasons of the height criteria changing.
I never thought I would say this but also I appreciate you're here Kanto, truely; you're asking questions that I'm sure alot of people here have but are shy to ask, also you're somehow forcing me to research even more than I would probably do, which enrich me even more.. Thanks!

^The photographer disabled HTML/BBcode, try going to "Actions", "View all sizes" and once you're in there, just copy and paste the image's url.

In the league of supertalls 1 WTC looks a bit boring and not too cutting edge. Check out http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=201 to see where I got this impression from.
I know the mecca clock tower is a far Superior design yeah right please give me a break

I was thinking. Instead of just having a spire up to 1,776 ft tall. We could just ass a pyramid to that height. At the top would be a stunning observation deck having many different floors and a tiny plaza you can look straight up to the sky above. Or just make the observation deck floors lower and have a communication antenna area bringing the tower to 2,000 ft. Genius?

Thanks, I appreciate that

Btw, parapets and crowns should be counted to a building's height because they are a true part of the building. I only have a grudge against spires since they are just thin steel sticks like antennas.

Here are some photos of 1 WTC I took during my visit to the 911 Memorial on Friday. Some of the pics are from a Canon G12 and some are from an iPhone. Enjoy.

LOL, I have 2 pairs of Twins and one Willis Tower from LEGO. It's pretty cool that LEGO still has a use even after I've grown up

Btw, 1WTC's glass looks far better than 7WTC's. I like when the glass is without lines. It gives the impression of one huge mirror
