From the the bay ridge promenade you can see bowing green area but that view most likely taken from a ferry, as for tallest i meant tallest in down town Manhattan area.

I strongly doubt that all or even the majority know what he is reffering to. If somebody asked it meant that somebody didn't know. I know it, but only because I know the actual height of 1WTC and the different heights of different NYC buildings, however most people aren't such a fanatic like me so they don't know what measurement he's using. Also keep in mind that samdam doesn't even have 100 posts, making the chance that somebody knows what measurement he's using even far smaller

Btw, Steveve, your videos are awesome. I really like the idea of making videos instead of photos. videos are so much more alive than photos. It makes me feel as if I would be standing next to this beauty myself Thank you very much for them and I'm glad you joined SSC

Can't we have only ONE, only ONE page without Kanto's utter rubbish, trolling and provocative posts?!

I already wrote THREE mods about this issue, and noone does anything.....

Other members who contributed to this thread, were treated like shit, because of a foncolor. And he is allowed to continue his nonsens, for weeks, if not months. Something is going terribly wrong in SSC nowadays.

One World Trade does have the second highest rooftop in New York City, but it isn't "officially" the second tallest because if spires didn't count One World Trade's symbolism of 1,776 feet with the spire would be meaningless so spires do count regardless. If spires didn't count and height was based on rooftop height, One World Trade wouldn't be the tallest in the U.S., Willis Tower would be. I just wish spires could be acknowledged more because take ESB or Wills Tower for example. Empire is jumped up to 1,454' with the antenna and Willis is 1,730'. Conde Nast at 4 Times Square is about 1,118' I believe. John Hancock goes up to 1,500'. I mean the height exists, the problem with those is that their antennas were added later on or weren't counted toward the official height. One World Trade will get to where it needs to be in time so people shouldn't be worried about the current height.

Maybe you have to see it in person, but the higher it gets the less I seem to like it.... it seems a bit bland in design.

With the cranes the building has almost 370 (?) metres?
I would like to control a crane in such a great height.
Just if I think on this awesome view , I get jealous.

And just think what kind of view the crane operators will have when they are on say the 100th floor.

LOL that's like asking him to let everyone know that he believes that grass is green, just because you think it's purple.

Please people, don't troll in this thread. If you have anything you would like to say about height measurement methods please do it in the thread designed for it:

Now I hope we can finaly get back to 1WTC. I must say the latest pics look awesome. they really show how dominating now 1WTC is. I can't wait for March to come, I think by that time it should be topped out

If this isn't the pot calling the kettle black, then I'm not sure what is. There is no debate about height measurements. The pinnacle height includes the spire, and that's that. So don't give out the wrong information about 1 WTC being second-tallest right now just because you've got a hard-on about roof heights.
