Here's an overlay I uploaded on a previous page, updated from Oct 1. Everything at ground level, with the exception of the scrapped "cultural center."

Here's a close-up of the FT area. remember that the constuction is 70 feet below ground. Hope that helps, Astounded.

Yes it does, thanks very much SexyToad!

It looks like the footprint of Freedom Tower is almost identical to the original towers and aligned with them. Does it extend to the edge of Vesey street?

I'm sorry, I love new york, but this project is going unbelievably slow. maybe its much more complex then I know, but damn.

I guess I can only compare it to watching some chicago supertalls going up (trump, waterview, etc..) speed is so much faster.

Its a bigger site with 3 buildings over 1000 feet going up. Also there are some serious physical constraints to the site because of the one entrance into the site, that being the ramp. Further the building is being built over the Path Tracks and they have to align the core to the curve behind it. The site also relies on the completion of the adjacent structures unlike say Waterview where the foundations were just being built for the building itself as the site is very well defined.

Yeah well we'll see just how "slow" this is going in a few months; you'll never see 4 supertalls up each other's asses go up so fast in your life.

So the path train structure is strong enough to support the FT also?

Obviously, and I think it was reinforced. If it made it through 9/11, it must be strong.

I was viewing the recent archives at earthcam.com, and since about 5:00am this morning US Eastern time there has been a huge convoy of dump trucks making a circuit over to the corner of the site where WTC 3 and 4 will be built.

Evidently they have been digging a lot there recently! Also, it looks like quite a bit of concrete foundation material was poured within the last day or so over near the WTC 1 site.

I love progress!

After hearing the delayed opening of the new PATH stationhouse, there is a possibly that it could lead to the FT being delayed again, though I wouldn't be too suprised about that.

yeah whatever, it will be build anyway.
And now some bad news for you, they started to insulate the formwork of the left core section. concrete pouring is close now, very close...

about the construction. as far as I know the slurriewall will support two of the four walls. the columns between the pathtracks doesn't seem to be strong enough to support a tower.
