I never understood why people try to see symbols in numbers. A number is just a number, nothing more and nothing less

But now back to topic. I wonder if the concrete base will be at all visible or if the glass will be identical to the glass above it so that none can tell where the base ends. I personaly would like to see different glass there. The concrete base is such a unique design feature and I just love to see it there
well, in your opinion it's pointless and you are entitled to YOUR OPINION but perhaps state it as such rather than state that the direct reference to the year of America's independence is pointless.............i feel you are missing the point

Maybe I used the wrong words to state my opinion. If I did, then I'm sorry

If they ever build the Philly Bud Tower, it would only be 6 1/2 inches tall.

I think 1wtc's height is fine the way it is (or rather the way it will be when complete). 2000 feet would have been way too tall...out of proportion to the rest of the NYC skyline.

Of course it is...WTC1 would look ridiculous in Baltimore, for example. I consider skylines a work of art, in a way. Height alone is not the end all. Density is cool, too.

Yea but hopefully NYC will build more supertalls and 2000 feet won't look too out of porportion...

Just sayin' NYC should get a mega tall sooner or later.

^Yes, NY can handle a 2000 footer and make it look good. There is enough height and density to support it. But as micrip said, 1WTC would look completely out of place in smaller cities. There is such a thing as too tall.

That depends on the design. Taipei 101 looks perfectly fine being on its own.

NYC has actually been forecast to receive less snow than last winter.

Meanwhile, here in Michigan we're on track for the worst winter in 100 years!

Thank god for that... Last winter over here was unbearable.

OT: 2000 footer would DEFINITELY look out of place in Lower Manhattan, however can't say the same for Midtown.
