Anyone been on call of duty MW3 yet? Copyright issues over the towers design and the fact that firing missiles at the new 1WTC might of not gone down to well have made the game developers replace 1WTC for a different tower. 2WTC is still there I think

true, they did dominate but there are a half dozen or so towers that are there now that were not there in 2001. Goldman Sachs, W Hotel, 7 WTC , NY by Gehry, the Barclay Tower etc and 4WTC now is making it's presence felt so while 1WTC will dominate, it has a lot more company down there than the twins did

Deleting 1WTC from the game is very bad I love skyscrapers and I love gaming (and I mean war gaming, not things like Simcity). Having those two together is like a dream comming true

Tall buildings and explosions together do bring an offense to some however so it's understandable why they took the new symbolic WTC out of the game. There's some other tall building in it's place though - a lot more boxy. I honestly think the game will be getting a he'll if a lot if complaints though, London underground is also featured and various other worldwide landmarks.

I too love war games however you can't beat a little bit of innocent fun on Sim City!

The base is an octagon. Is that 200' 1.5" measurement the length of each of the four longer sides? Or is it the length of a square drawn exactly to enclose the octagon? (That square would be the size of the tower at 185' in height, where the tower is widest.)

The 200' 1.5" figure is the distance between a column center from one face to the column center of the opposite one.

Drawing is not scaled.

In case you didn't noticed, the majority of those renderings were made by dbox and released back in 2010, except first pic. You can find them at wtc.com

That's correct. Last time I was there was in January 2009 and I think all those buildings you mention already were there. Anyway, I like the WTC1 a lot (however, I will miss Twin Towers forever) and hope to go back sooner or later and see with my own eyes the renewed Lower Manhattan!

Very disappointed they deleted 1 wtc in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 don't understand why since they have wtc 2 and wtc 3 in it.

Hmm, that's strange. I can understand why they would though

Like I've already said, it may be that tower 1 was removed since it's the tallest to be symbolic to the former towers. Then I don't understand why 2wtc and 3wtc haven't been removed as surely they're breaching design copyright issues.
