I was in New York a few days ago and yes the weather is a bit warmer than usual.

Here in Philadelphia (only 90 miles south of New York) it nearly hit 70 F and people were still out in T-shirts and shorts. There are still leaves on the trees but they are turning yellow, orange and red. More interesting, all the flowers like roses are still in bloom, including my geraniums in front of my house.

Weather is stuffed and out of sync everywhere, down here as well. Still mild 20s here (70F for you folks). Nice weather though.

In the night it's dark. Maybe there's someone cheeky and climbs over the panels....

Maybe they're respectful of the importance of that place. At least, i hope so, because billion and billion and billion of dollars will never have the same value of a human life.

Nevertheless, ground zero's memorial looks huge and beautiful! Greetings from Milan!

when the pool filters get cleaned and checked now and then, i guess the combined coins worth could be put towards maintenance of the plaza memorial area, watering trees, racking leaves etc.

btw here are some recent snapped Earthcam shots from a few minutes ago, just taken at the right time at dusk.

New Jersey

Liberty

I have to printscreen save these pictures now as for some reason when you save from the Earthcam site it now saves it as shitty small 40kb sized files for some reason.

I can very well imagine a lot of drunk people climbing over the pannels regularily some even falling into the pool itself. After a few glasses of gin they simply won't care that it's a memorial

Btw, I have pics

which floor is steel concrete, and cladding up to? also who here has noticed that the freedom towers design for a smaller top is so that if there is another airplane terror attack there will be less weight on the steel below.

I know we're at war, but I can't image there's a steel shortage in this country. What's the deal? Complicated part of the building? Labor? Holiday?

The memorial pools are becoming filled with coins i see already.

I don't understand why people would throw change in it. It's a waterfall not a fountain.

It's also a memorial. Some people are just stupid and disrespectful.

Common sense at less tells us to respect the dead. I never thought people would throw change into it.

Some people seem eager to see the tower add a few more stories and reach a loftier height.

Myself, I am patient, I would rather see more of the glass cladding go on. Also, I am curious what the new cladding will look like on the base of the building to cover up all that poured solid concrete.

Most of the time change collected from fountains is given to charity. In this case, it will probably be something 9-11 related. It is rather bizarre, though, that people would throw change into THIS fountain.

Im sure people dont throw money in to be disrespectful. If it goes to a charity then it is overall doing something good isnt it....

Mankind reached its peak at the end of the 20th century. Its people just being dumb, its everywhere and more common than ever before. People not thinking, being stupid without acknowledging that they might be acting in a disrespectful manner.

Of course! And you don't have to become angry....
....because I really know how important this place is.
