How far away is your future?
The next ten years?...Of course
The next 50 years?...I'm sure ther will be another supertall which one is beating OWTC.
But maybe there won't be one, I'm no psychic.

That's true. If WW3 would erupt it would be most probably the end of all of us

But let's go to something more optimistic, I have new pics

Btw, awesome render Otie. Though I think they made a mistake making the cladding as they plan to make it. I think it would look far better if it were made from normal glass pannels all directly fused to the walls like in the case of the normal above base cladding

The design and arrangement of the fins were done in such a way that "plays" with the rest of the building: at the center they'll "close" as much as 60 degrees, at the corners and the near bottom they'll open creating a flat surface, architects did this to create a transition between the base and the main facade. This test render should give you an idea, though the bottom is wrong, those panels should be almost completely flat:

Thank you very much for the render. It looks to be a quite complicated arrangement, I can't wait to see how it will reflect/refract light once it's done

Not any time soon because the bedrock for mounting a foundation is too far below the surface from about 30th down to Canal to be a smarter economical move than building in midtown or lower manhattan.

That having been said, there must be zoning laws now to avoid free riders to build high enough to take advantage of the open line of sight offered in that area of manhattan.. Right?
