Both buildings have awesome cladding but I like 1WTC's more than 7WTC's. 1WTC's looks more like one huge glass pannel

Good news about DCM, that should clear things up for a few more days.

There is no visible progress since yesterday on the building

So why do you post it then?

I think most of the people know the webcam links and can look at them if they like to, no need to post the snapshots so often. (but keep on posting other pics and diagrams please )

btw, some cladding has been added in the SE part..

I just thought that when it'll be here people don't need to bother clicking their way to Earthcam But I agree with you, there's nothing worth posting atm

I don't think that Earthcam is updating. The sky always looks the same. Even when tower 4 cam is cloudy...

WISHFUL THINKING!

Too windy today. Winds were hitting 70-80mph up here where I live... up in the mountains they hit roughly 130mph earlier in the morning.

Port Authority Advances Money To Steel Contractors At WTC Site

Quote:
The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has been advancing money to DCM Erectors, the company that’s erecting the steel skeletons of two towers at the World Trade Center site and the agency’s $3.4 billion transportation hub, the Wall Street Journal reported, in an effort to keep the construction on track.

The agency has even been paying some of DCM’s subcontractors directly, the Journal said, since DCM, which has $700 million worth of steel contracts at the site, began to struggle financially as a result of the project’s complexity and unexpected extra costs.

A spokesperson for the Port Authority declined to comment on how much DCM had received in advanced payment.

“The Port Authority has and will continue to work closely with DCM in order to maintain its construction effort,” he said in a statement to the Journal.

DCM President Larry Davis added: “I’m sure we’re all going to work out the issues down the road.
Maybe there will be a happy ending after all!

Yep, a happy ending indeed. 1 WTC is going to spurt concrete from its spire when it's topped out.

Please let's not be mean to Kanto, with whom has been contributing outstanding Photo's for us. Whatever our differences and opinions on the Building let's put that aside, at least it's being built there, and will be as tall and most likely as impacting as the original Tower.

I'm sure the Tower will be refreshing and new, and impact of design, technology and efficiency. It may be taking a while, but hey?, There's no turning back now, so the Tower will be built.
