From what I know the observation deck should be at floors 100, 101 and 102. That's 379 meters or 1243 feet, 383 meters or 1257 feet and 387 meters or 1270 feet

Thanks! But what I'm wondering is who in the world is going to use the bottom 2 observation deck floors?

I don't agree. When looking at the skyline of Manhattan from Brooklyn, the buildings in the city that currently stand out are the Empire State and the Chrysler, followed by the Bank of America - they all have spires. The spire on the WTC will complete the picture - mirroring nicely across the city.

Plus I think it needs it aesthetically. The Beekman tower seems very strange with its flat top to me.

Yeah, BofA's spire is cool albeit a little awkward. It certainly has its own unique style and purpose.

today was a good day, 104 pieces erected. The wind and weather ahs stopped crane use most of this week. One more day and erection for 90 should be done.

The reports are getting more delayed every quarter.. really a pity, they used to contain lots of interesting stuff.

Now it is four months that the 3rd quarter has ended, I was already wondering if the new Executive Director stopped the reports.. (maybe to save a few cents )

LOL, that's true. They have 3 floors as an observation deck cause they previously have made space for the restaurant too but that was sadly cancelled though I can't imagine why since having meal in the second tallest building in the States would certainly be something people would love. At least I would

I agree. A restaurant with a view is something special. The rotating restaurant on the 72nd floor of the Westin hotel in Atlanta is a can't miss! I would LOVE to make a reservation for 2015 in 1WTC.

This is why the spire argument is so dumb. Some buildings simply don't have roofs (rooves? lol).
