That's definitely true. In my opinion One WTC is a very beautiful and unique building that surely affects the atmosphere of New York, but it's not a landmark exceeding the old WTCs. Definitely not.

P.S.: Nice pics, Kanto. They're awesome

1 World Trade Center as well as the whole site in general is a much more significant Landmark now, if only for the reason it is being created. But you are entitled to your opinion.

After what happened on 9/11/2001, it's better to have a new landmark than none at all.

But it could have been a so much better landmark than what it will be. I don't understand why you apologize the PA and Larry, since they don't deserve it because of what they did at the WTC site

If larry wasnt there then there would be nothing like this Kanto! He deserves a lot for what he has done to bring the WTC back!

Because of what they did? You mean, years of planning, rebuilding everything not just only from scratch but having in mind what happened there and trying to honor those who died with a beautiful memorial, at the same time building five major office towers, all of the infrastructure for the site and a transportation hub, all of this happening around a working subway station? When I see what was left of the WTC days after 9/11 I don't even know how they got where they are today. We only see what's above ground and the towers rising, but the amount of work being done underground... wow.
Those Dubai projects are s**t compared to this.

Discuss design and aesthetics in the architecture forum. This thread should really only be about actual construction.

I love the diagrams! Great way to measure the projects. It's about to pass up the main observation floor of the Empire State Building.

No, the main observation deck has been passed long ago. You are thinking of the second observation deck.
