Yes we cannot forget the 1993 terrorist attack 19 years ago today, on Feb. 26, 1993. The terrorists planned to topple one of the towers into the other, but thankfully they didn't succeed. Unfortunately, 6 innocent people died that day. All they did was go to work, and never came home. If something good came out of the 93 attack, it perhaps raised awareness about evacuation in the towers, and hopefully saved some lives on 9/11. The 1993 victims are as follows:

Monica Smith, age 35
Robert (Bob) Kirkpatrick, age 61
Bill Macko, age 47
Stephen Knapp, age 48
John DiGiovanni, age 45
Wilfredo Mercado, age 37

The 1993 WTC bombing victims' names are displayed in bronze alongside the thousands of other 9/11 victims in the Memorial Plaza. May we never forget, and NEVER let it happen again.

Great photos, but as an advice, don't post to many of them the next time, some people might find it annoying.

Every single one of those photos was relevant to construction. It's kind of an exemplary post, actually.

And what is this, 2002? Do people really have a problem loading that many images?

I asked the PA project team and I was told horizontal only. Think lighthouse beacon.

I'm sure this building will have the most dominating illumination; it already does while uncompleted.

Keep the photos coming Kanto! Whether they are in 1 post or not keep them coming. To the ones who find when he puts them in the one post annoying get a stressball or build a bridge and get over it! Life is too short to get yourself worked up over picky insignificant little things like this and if you can't get past it get off SSC.

The tower is looking more amazing everyday! I know from the other side of the globe you have me jealous

Thanks for the info. A light house beacon would look pretty sick (talk about Babylon A.D. ha?), but I kind of wish the beam would be vertical too. Because that way it would be possible to recognize NY from very far away...

I like the lightsaber spire beam but I hate the lighthouse spire beam, the lighthouse one looks like the lights of a police car or an ambulance and on a skyscraper that is rather ridiculous

Wow, after a horribly slow November, December and January they now have an incredibly fast February. In this month alone there have been 3 height jumps, that's awesome. Considering this gigantic speed increase and the delays at 4WTC caused by the steel fall incident I have kinda like no doubt that 1WTC will top out to the roof earlier than 4WTC

A horizontal light, like a beacon, I think, Is emblematic of what the Statue of Liberty stands for: a beckoning symbol lighting the way for those seeking a new life, a new world. I think it is appropriate aesthetically and symbolically.
