seems to be a good map for someone who would be unfamiliar with the locations of the city's landmarks

Haha it is pretty dreadful, firstly the Riverside Cathedral is grossly exaggerated height wise, secondly, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine is like 5 blocks away and it is a much bigger church and much bigger tourist attraction, I realize it's harder to see from a cruise, but I'd advertise that one.

ANYWAY, advertising the WTC feels a bit premature, but I guess marketing is marketing.

sidenote: I love how all the buildings are built on grass haha. It's like New York is a newly discovered place, and they just decided to build right on the prairie.

I think you guys saying it's not accurate need to have a look at yourselfs, it's supposed to be just a simple illustration highlighting some main landmarks, with abit of tongue in cheek! . . . "Yanks" don't you just love em! lol

I was going to totally agree with you, but then you called me a yank. So now I feel totally insulted.

The new 1WTC is better than the old one in so many ways:

- taller

- more beautiful
- more aesthetically pleasing
- more interesting geometrical form
- and what not...
In many ways it is, but not taller. Same height. In my mind, I don't include the spire, because it is not accesible to the public, unlike the Empire State Building. One way the originals were better, not to harp and stray off the subject matter, nor lament, was the observation deck on the rooftop, and the restaraunt. That being said, I'm going to be expecting something spectacular on that observation deck, inside there, that is yet to be determined, but something spectacular. Something Blockbuster. Something breathtaking. Hear that Silverstein? Hear that, Port Authority?, and/or whoever else is involved in this?

Everyone wants to come here yet everyone hates us. Strange. Maybe it's envy. Take our money and aid. Depend on us for defense. Try to weaken us through the corrupt and incompetent UN. Then try to move here.

Don't be so touchy, yanks is a pretty affectionate term for an american.
You should hear what some of those arabs call you lot.

The right picture was taken on Sunday and the left in 2010, both by a friend of mine.

People in the US have some pretty bad names for arabs too However, some may be surprised to know that arabs do actually live in the US

but anyway, at least in my parents country (spain) many people hate the american govnt and not really america itself, many would love to come visit.

And for the haters.. yea probably jealousy.

^, I agree let's please stay on topic. Regardless this Tower is an incredible building, and will become an iconic icon.

Don't judge until the entire complex has been finished. I think your perspectives will change once 2 WTC is up, and there is 2 400M + Building's there, which I'm sure will look amazing, and also 3 WTC, 4 WTC, Transit Hub, 2 Fountains and Museum and all.
