1WTC's windows can't be opened. It's definitely missing:

Left opened for a reason.

That panel has been missing for months now. There used to be glass in it. I'm hoping it just broke and that is not where they are putting the exhaust vent for the cafeteria that Condé Nast demanded when they signed the lease.

Oh but what a amazing cafeteria it will be. In 2009-10 I did a bunch of contract work for Vogue, Vanity Fair, Lucky and CN Media Group and their cafeteria at 4 Times Square was the coolest building Cafeteria I have EVER EVER EVER been in. Once they are in WTC 1 I will stop picking up contracts from them, I don't want to set foot in that building, too skeeved out...

Since the corresponding thread has been closed and put to archives (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=489987), it's canceled. Maybe in the future they will develop something on this plot, but not before 2 & 3 WTC have been completed I guess.

I wouldn't say cancelled. there will be a 5WTC....one day, just a matter of when. And yes certainly not before 2&3WTC. remember the original 7WTC didn't come around until about 10 years after the main complex was built, and that was done in segments as well just like this one. everything will fall into place relax
