I noticed that actually! I was like " I wonder if I should mention the fact that they forgot the spire, lol"

Also, i was wondering what are those redish orange buildings three pics above ?

It kinda does actually..

It's really hard for me to appreciate the height of 1WTC at the moment. The cladding still is quite low, so the building still doesn't look that "tall" to me. I hope they somehow change up the pace

One Canada Square was designed by Caesar Pelli, same guy who did the World Financial Center across the street from the WTC. This is where the similarity comes from

It would be great if they were less noticeable, they look very ugly. Any chance they might do something about that ?

Either way, NYC is going to be insane once this is finished.

It will cost over 10x that to live on the top floor

If the WFC wasn't there, it wouldn't look like canary wharf.

100 million to live on the top floor ? Man, that's a high price... I would probably pay that if I was a billionaire though.

They look fine, and considering they just finished several of them I can tell you that no, they will not be doing something about them.

Yeah, because the One57 top penthouse was 98 million then it got increased by i think another 10 million. 432 park is going to be even more than that!

After a year of watching this get built i can wait to see completion!

Definitely. It seems that people either love or hate BPC. I love it myself. It's in the city, but it's a little quieter and there are as you said a ton of families in the area. Not to mention the promenade and the WFC! And the WTC is right across the street!

I like it so much that it's the first place I'm going to look at once I'm finished with professional school. Hopefully I can afford one of the studios or one bedrooms.

1 WTC set to become NYC's tallest building

By JENNIFER FERMINO
Last Updated: 12:14 PM, April 24, 2012
Posted: 12:05 PM, April 24, 2012

"One World Trade Center is poised to become the tallest building in New York City within the next couple of days, officials said today.

Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye said contruction is proceding so rapidly it could surpass the Empire State Building's height as early as Monday, weather permitting.

"One World Trade Center will be the tallest building in Manhattan, eclipsing the Empire State Building," said Foye at a Crain's Breakfast forum this morning in Midtown.

When finished, One World Trade Center will be the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.

Construction started six years ago.

Foye said 55 percent of the building is leased."

No offence to all, but there's no way Canary Wharf has anything on lower Manhattan. There's not enough density to compare (I know, I travel by it every day). I've seen a a couple of major footprints though (25 Churchill Place comes to mind), so maybe it's heading in the right direction. Still needs a couple more tall landmark buildings in my opinion.
