27 feet is pretty consistent with their typical height increases.
So it will be 1318 ft, eh? Ah, Nevermind, I see you say it won't.

I'm confused, no one ever said the exact number of floors, it's always either 104, 85, 105, 108, or 110. How many more floors are there until topping off?

I think what's really stupid here is the fact that they've downgraded the quality of the building several times... starting with the podium (which is now square, the small plaza (which now looks like a bunker), and the spire (which is now a "regular" antenna). That is what is really stupid, and what has put 1 WTC under the Willis Tower. Really Stupid Decision.

Exactly. In the world of towers like burj khalifa and kingdom tower roof height measurement is absolutely outdated because there is no point and no meaning of roof height of buildings like burj and kingdom. You are clearly obsessed about this and other ideas often leaving rational thinking behind, what pisses people off.

But all in all. I missed your presence here a bit. This crazy element you introduce to this sometimes boring threads

1. Many people think the new podium actually looks better (more resemblance to the original WTC towers), including me.
2. The plaza plan is not final, it can be changed.
3. There has been no renders about the spire change whatsoever. As Otie mentioned, the material enclosing the antenna will still be there. Generally speaking, noone knows how it will look like.

So let's just take a step back and don't jump to premature conclusions.

Welcome back Kanto, I'm sorry that you were chased from here for a while by stupid comments. There are always going to be some flies in the ointment on these forums, it's best to just ignore them (as I do).

And Skyscrapers144, I think that's the best thing I've ever seen created from MS Paint

There are three actual floors left, the 103rd, 104th, and 105th.

Thank you. I appreciate your support

Btw, I have my diagram update ready

Roof height used below!

1WTC = 388 meters or 1274 feet out of 418 meters or 1371 feet
4WTC = Approximately 265 meters or 868 feet out of 298 meters or 977 feet
157 = 248 meters or 815 feet out of 306 meters or 1005 feet

(Note: I used the 418 meter figure for 1WTC when measured from the lowest above ground entrance and I used the 298 meter figure for 4WTC.)

NYC will most likely keep 1 WTC as the tallest for atleast the next two decades, so hopefully Chicago will build a mega tall. But the one thing we have that all the other nations don't is history. We have so many historic buildings, especially gorgeous art deco gems, and that is what sets us apart.

I have read about the Old post office in Chicago could be built as a Megatall skyscraper with 610 meters tall Thats over 2000 feet and that's probably what both cities hopefully would have in the near future. One other thing is that the FAA should not have any problems with that I think and HOPE off course. I just think that the MOST ICONIC city in the world should have the glory to have at least ONE majestic megatall building. "MEGATALLS FOR ALL"

They should X out the current Penn plaza design and make it a huge 2000ft'er, so it doesn't look so similar height-wise to the ESB. Being "Penn plaza/station" makes it the most iconic, appropriate and feasible reason to make a megatall, as compared to lets say a standard or new named building/area, like "hudson yards" etc. Obvious they can't call it "wtc", so I think "Penn Plaza" is their last hope/chance to have a reason/iconic-named-building to build a megatall. Otherwise, wouldn't it be just called some new or weird name?

A midtown Mega-tall would be perfect. It'll be like papa bear (2000ft penn plaza), mama bear (ESB) and baby bear (Chrysler) in midtown and would have such a nice scenic composition.

To think the way you think you have already lost. You must go outside your box and travel to Asia and the arabian countries to see what I am seeing. Look at shanghai, Doha, Dubai, Tokyo and seouls visions for the next decade and see what they are planning to build then you will understand that other cities are catching in to N.Y.C and thats BAD. So stop imagine that N.Y is unthreatened. The competion will never stop you don't take it easy you work hard to be on top all the time
