no, I quoted nickguar. I originally posted that a little while ago, before your post. But the mods came and deleted it, God knows why.

I'm freaking sick of people with the stupid 'build a twin of wtc1' bullshit. Is it still 2002? Just because the old WTC happened to be a twin complex, it doesn't mean you should be grovelling for a twin of this new building and screwing up the entire site plan. The reason the old wtc looked so good as a twin complex was because of the simple rectangular shapes; they complimented each other. Giving this a twin just looks bad and it's pointless. It's almost as ridiculous as wanting the tower to have a 1776 foot roof height...

Hello. I'm a fellow member over at skyscraperpage and decided to create an account over with yall as well.

I was following this thread and saw that their are rumors that base glass is being installed. Is that true? I see like a little platform on the top of the base below floor 20.

Let's keep discussing the non-existent possibility of a twin of 1 WTC which can't fit anywhere on the site plan at all, and delete logical posts that explain why it won't happen. There was no justification for deleting my post at all.

So I'll re-post it:

This isn't happening. For real.

You clearly didn't even think all of this through before you posted. Where exactly is a twin of 1 WTC going to fit with your "jam-packed" proposal?

There's no room directly in front of 1 WTC, no room next to 7 WTC, and as far as I know, they're going to build the Performing Arts Center.

And you want to build a twin of 1 WTC on top of the museum? You do realize a building needs a foundation, right? Where is that gonna go?

Right, moving on. Your idea is unintelligent and unrealistic, please stop. Thanks. (and mods, if you found this sentence as good enough reason for deleting my post, then the sensitivity level is a bit too high)
Thanks for the clarification (and the insults). I was just being inquisitive.

Don't take it as an insult I totally agree with you. I have tried many times to talk about the possibility of a twin of the new 1wtc. In return I have been called many things, and "Kanto" also.

We are a minority here I think, that wants to have a twin of the 1wtc. If it could be possible, maybe not but hey I don't stop dreaming about it for that. One day in the next millenium then we have our twin brother/sister back

I support your thoughts

Ignorance is proclaiming something to be a certain way without knowledge. Inquisitiveness is requesting that knowledge.

There have been rumors that the glass is being installed under the netting, but no I don't think it is happening. A user over at SSP, named Alan, would have notified you already. And Iloveclassicrock, Kanto, and the nickguar, stop dreaming because that isn't going to happen. Nickguar, I can't believe you asked SSP if they would fill in on the footprints and take out the waterfalls. Ugh like wtf

Honestly even if they ever did decide to build a twin which would never happen but hypothetically there is no where to put it that would look good. All of the east side towers are to far from tower 1 to look anywhere like the old ones did as they were much closer clearly. Also it would look pretty weird if it were put where the PAC is going. The twin towers at the World Trade Center are gone forever. This is the new WTC, period.

Don't take his post too seriously, I can understand why people wanted the Twin towers rebuilt. Viewing NYC from the Brooklyn Bridge when the Twins were there was remarkable, and added something brilliant to NYC that it doesn't have now, it will never be the same, but I have hope that this will be a very worth successor.

Patrick is right, the Twins will never be rebuilt.

I must have missed something...why is this tower no longer listed as 1776'?
