In that photo, The Beekman Tower (8 Spruce Street) appears (at that particular angle) as the twin tower to One World Trade Center !!

I think the roof height should be 500m and the spire should take it to 600m

Take the Sturm und Drang there!
The Spire is part of 1WTC's construction process and thus, it is perfectly ontopic to discuss on this board.

If you think the spire talk is crap, well, i would rephrase that "the spire is CRAP, and therefore all the talk about it...."

If there was never a competition for design, this tower would look pretty nice.
In fact, even if the twin towers were still around, this tower would still look good.

the twin towers were impressive, but personally, I like much more the design of this new tower.

Yet you keep saying it will be 1776 feet tall when the building itself will not be anywhere near that.
If you and others accepted that simple fact then the spire talk would become largely irrelevant apart from aesthetics.

that lookalike is in Kunming, China. It is called South Asian Gate, and is 83 floors/333 m.

but i think this picture shows off the similarities better :

kinda what 1WTc would look with NO spire and comm ring at all.

There are clearly more than one category for buildings, I was just saying officially it will be 1776, I said this because the SSC thread falsely jumped to conclusions and put 1375,

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with official height, I'm just saying it is.
The CTBUH sets their standard, but they don't set the standard. This is a building with a roof height of 1374, and a pinnacle of 1782 feet. Those are facts, the CTBUH official height is a subjective measurement

China just ran out of ideas for new skyscrapers, so they decided to copy the first thing they saw when they typed in "American Skyscraper" on Google Images.

yes it is already rising.

and there are a lot of buildings looking similar to 1WTC, because seriously it is a pretty simple design and a simple design makes a lot of things look similar. also the northeast asia trade tower (currently tallest building in south korea) looks similar to 1WTC.
