Ok I think we don't have mutual understanding here, whatever you want to call the height 1375/1776 is up to you, I'm just saying the thread title should be changed because spires count for any other building except this one apparently, look at the Moscow tower, it's 1660 feet to a spire, I was merely saying the title should be changed because the media speculation was likely false.

I don't think they have finished decking the 103 floor.

Couldn't agree more. We are discussing this issue on this thread http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...1#post91846901

I completely agree that the spire is a legitimate topic of discussion for this building. It's just a personal opinion but I don't think that if a so called spire looks like an overgrown flagpole on a flat roof that it should not count in the final height. I do have a perfect example of a building with a beautifully designed spire in which the roof actually is the spire and that's the Chrysler Building. The entire top of the building tapers gracefully to a single point which is clearly part of the design and should be included in the height. I love the design of the 1WTC but it's not even close to being 1776 in height even with the original spire design as far as I'm concerned. Sticks on top of flat roofs don't deserve to be included in the height of buildings.

If it was designed before the 1WTC, then 1WTC looks like NE Trade Tower?

Maybe. The floor decking for the 103rd floor is going pretty quick. If not today, probably tomorrow.

The spire around the antennae is deleted, so now it's roof height only.

So until then it's the spire height.
No. The spire was axed so they could save $20 million. It's just an antenna now.

"the antenna" is the unenclosed spire, if any plans are made for an enclosing when the thing is erected (giggity) it might be considered a spire. (correct me if I'm incorrect)

They're saving $20 million by not enclosing it.

I wish they'd put some lights on the AIG building at night. Looks terrible standing tall in darkness on those night photos. I think it's the AIG tower.
