Please people the more you complain about the spire the less you are not going to get over it.

Never underestimate people's ability to get over things. I was a die hard Twin Towers 2 crusader, yet even I learned to love the new WTC. Trust me, people will learn to love the new antenna

i really like this image! soaring, monumental, and modern.

not to mention how close it is to squaring off at the top. i feel as though the distinctive box-like profile of the top of the original towers is soon returning home .

There's new steel up today. It looks different than the other floors. Is this the observation floor?

W8, these short columns are new steel? Or do you speak of spandrel beams?

The shorter columns are new. They only reach up one floor and aren't lined up directly over the existing columns. I don't think they're meant to be load-bearing columns.

Maybe they're the beginning of the crown.

Very disappointed as well as the new spire (or rather 'stick') looks so cheap in comparison with the previous one...

Correct, those columns will form the recessed louver walls at the mechanical plenums, which are about 4' behind the perimeter steel

Yes.

Some panoramas shared by the PA on Twitter.

27th Floor Panorama

91st Floor Panorama

Panorama of 91st clearly shows both louver walls and perimeter steel.

Quick question, for anyone who can answer it. 1 WTC has a parapet to hide the cooling towers on its roof, right? Where was that equipment kept in the twin towers? Because I know it wasn't on the flat roof..

Most of the HVAC equipment was kept underground in the "B" levels.

There were also mechanical floors at floors 6-7, 41-42, 75-76, and 108-109.

I believe one could call the cooling towers on 1WTC mechanical floors, since they will surely be accessible and have multiple decks inside them for maintenance

Nope But a floor should come soon considering this steel went up. I dunno how tall these mini columns are so I'll make a new diagram once the real steel comes up
