Okay, so I see this question alot yet no one EVER has answered it- When the building tops out, will there be more work on the glass and will it rise up faster? thanks

I doubt that the topping out will affect the speed of the glass.
They still have to do concrete and fireprofing on the new floors and the ones covered by the tarp.
So Probably not.

I can't wait to see Otie's new 1wtc diagram. We really need one. And also, what are they going to do with the openings on the bottom of the tower where the cladding should be?

By "bottoms" I'll assume you mean the 20th floor? They have openings because they will be installing base glass starting in October.

Well when you think about it, the steel workers are going to be done pretty soon so who knows, maybe they will go help with glass, & maybe even start at the top & work their way down to the current glass. You never know so I'm gonna actually wait, and just see what happens to answer this question, I should've realized that no one truly knows this answer which is probably why it is unasked. Thanks for the response though Chris

Iron worker's wont install the glass, and most of the time they don't gun (tighten) the building up until the concrete is poured. There is still a ton of welding to do (which the iron workers do)

Also did anyone notice the perimeter steel erection is following how the base went? There is smaller steel then a few feet out to the base is the larger curtain steel?

No, each curtain wall panel fits within the lower one, so enclosing from top to bottom is technically impossible. They'll most likely enclose one floor per week (maximum speed), they can't go faster due to the other projects going on top (fireproofing, core slabs and stairs, shear walls, concrete on deck and metal deck). All of these projects follow a 1 floor per week cycle.

If you notice reading news articles of lately about 1wtc their stating that 1 wtc being 1776 feet tall, and being the tallest in the country wondering if this is signs of good news regarding the spire. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/10/re...arbarians.html

IT IS CONFIRMED! The final hieght WILL BE 1,776

"Durst plans to add an installation for FM radio and television antennas in the building’s 408-foot spire, which will ultimately bring the new building’s height to 1,776 feet, making it the tallest building in North America."

Here is a link to the full article about the spire.

Itīs either outdated info being used in that article (they also used an ancient render) or Durst changed his plans.
