The article was published on June 6th of this year, so I'd say it's correct.

Guys, just because an article says 1776 ft doesn't mean that it is. Until the CTBUH says it is 1776, or the NYT says CTBUH counts antennae... etc.. it is undecided. You all are starting to sound so naive. The only way this antennae gets counted with its current height is if the CTBUH makes an exception, which would mean that every other building in the world gets cheated..

But 1 WTC will always have the highest pinnacle height which is just as important as the so called architecture height the CTBUH uses. Even the CTBUH acknowledges multiple measurements as equals.

An article from some unknown like the link you mentioned is nothing, this is a big enough issue that whenever something happens, the times, and CTBUH will have an article on it.

News articles get the heights of skyscrapers wrong all the time. That certainly doesn't confirm anything.

It's also been noted on this and other forums that the 1,776 figure is incorrect due to the starting elevaton point. It's either going to be ~1,375 or ~1,780+.

1776 is simply the advertisement for this building.

Also, I think it's safe to say that we know more about this building than the news

1 wtc true pinnacle height will either be between 1,787 to 1,792 feet tall.

It'll be just 2'4" (~0.71m) shy of the 1800' mark.

The topping-out beams are scheduled to be put up on Flag Day, or July, 14th, but I hope they can get them up quicker

Here is an even bigger comparison. This is one month (Sorta...) May 10, 2012 and June 8, 2012.

They added 6 rows of glass in that span, so at that rate they will complete the glass in 3 months, so you can expect the tower to have the glass complete (Except lobby) by Late August - Early September.
