I'm just happy they're actually rebuilding the place. Anything is better than a crappy hole in the ground.

I think changing the flooring in the hub to regular stone was a good idea, considering it's easy to clean and lasts much longer than marble. Also factor in the amount of people with dirty shoes that would walk there each year. That would ruin the marble pretty fast.

And there's no such thing as 'quickly' building a multi-billion dollar complex of towers. 2/5 of them are almost fully constructed and most of the memorial, as well as WTC7, is opened.
Also, money doesn't just appear from thin air. Especially in manhattan, where workers require a good paycheck and land is expensive. Once the complex develops more, and starts getting attention from tenants, the work will speed up.

One of the best things I have read on here in a while! I so agree! We just have to be patient this whole project wasn't even offically started till 2006 so this ispretty good timing for such a complicated site. Especially since from the beginning these designs had huge flaws that werent found til later on in the development. Were getting 5 brand new skyscrapers(1,2,3,4,5 WTC) besides 7WTC a memorial museum and a transportation hub all sitting on the same 16 acre site.

You Guys, just to clarify. We're not on the 105th floor.
We're on floor 104. 1,313 and i think the column slices bring it to 1,318.
The Next Jump takes us to floor 105, 1,334.
Then Another Jump makes the parapet.

Two Jumps.

One of those jumps might come within the new week.

So it probably will top out on July 4

Yea agreed. New steel was erected in the core. No one has answered my question, what exactly is a parapet? Is it like a structure surrounding the roof, but not exactly on top of it?

How the hell can there possibly be two jumps left? The steel at the top of the triangle is practically touching right now!

A parapet is a wall like structure that extends from the roof. In the case of 1 World Trade Center, it will cover the mechanical items, like water tanks, boilers, etc, etc.

here's a pic of a parapet

Tell me, what sense it would make to build 2 and 3 and leave it mostly empty? They WILL come, be patient and look back how the former WTC was developed over YEARS.
Right On Germantower!

The Steel beams will touch at the next jump.
But the parapet still is another separate jump.

I meant in terms in size compare to the Burj Khalifa.

One World Trade Center has always been the tallest on the World Trade Center complex, no matter whether the old design or the present design.
Two World Trade Center is not 1,447 feet and never was.
