There's some new steel on the top, but I'm not sure what it's supposed to be. Perhaps a platform for the spire?

^Because it sits just below the roof slab, I'm quite sure this "platform" was required to connect the north and south cores in order to spread the weight of the mast.

Looks like we're getting steel to support the parapet and possibly house the spire. Aerially it looks like this:

Nice diagram Otie, thanks. Though I'd like to ask what purpose do those catwalks serve?

Can someone highlight, arrow, or point out where we are now in this diagram?

We definitely should make a good bit of progress, but I don't know. 2 weeks is pushing it.

Why are there red and grey beams? Is it the parapet?

^Man

Is was explained throughout the page.

The red portion, however "......the columns that went up...are non-structural and will support the louvered walls that span from the 103rd floor slab to just below the parapet, these walls serve for ventilation and will create an air plenum between these walls and the exterior facade."-Otie

New steel arrived yesterday and is being readied for installation.

Monday, July 16th, the steel columns will begin installation to finish the last floor and should take a week.

The parapet will hopefully begin installation two weeks later and will finish by August 10th, 2012.

The building will be officially topped out on August 13, 2012, 2,300 days since construction began.

And concrete will reach the last floor on September 11, 2012.

Dammit! I won't be able to see the last beam being placed, since I'm in NYC for just one day on the 6th next month.
