And about the steel, the parapet is much more complex than a regular steel floor, so it will take longer. We'll also presumably be working on the glass and concrete as well.
The parapet? If anything wouldn't it be the easiest? It's only a wall of perimeter steel.

The base cladding has been brought up before, but no one knows.

And as far as the parapet, I would assume that it would take longer due to the fact that it is round, which could pose complications, and 40 feet high, but I do not know.

You'll have to wait a while. All 4 WTC main towers will be completed circa 2017-2018. And not to mention 5WTC, and a possible 6WTC.

As I've said before Base Glass will begin in October.
According to some of Otie's diagram the parapet was a massive wall of perimeter steel.

The parapet is a steel, square jump... You're thinking of the communications ring.

Now that I know this, the steel bars just put on should house the communications ring, not the parapet, as my diagram shows. Is that included in the topping out? And will there be no outdoor rooftop observatory?

What do you mean by square jump? You mean the rotated square?

The beam that they will use for topping out will be where on the tower?

This diagram should certainly straighten everything up...
We are currently perhaps on the 105 floor if Otie's diagrams have been correct, (which I am very sure they have been). It is on this floor where the columns will meet up with each other and form a perfect square. The next structural perimeter columns will bring us up to the Parapet which will consist of structural perimeter columns rising up from the joints of the 105th floor columns. As Otie's previous diagram explained they are currently constructing the spire platform that will support the weight of the equipment and the spire atop the 105 floor (aka the roof) this is also the top of the core. All of this will be hidden by the parapet. Rising atop the parapet is the communications ring. Now portions of the communications ring will be hidden by the parapet but the main rings will show above the parapet and ofcourse the spire is in the middle of all of this. Now there is a possibility that the new perimeter columns go up to the parapet level, but we need confirmation from Otie,

Now can we please stop acting like little children and stop talking about fruits and vegetables, dancing bananas, minecraft, and other thing that aren't significant to 1WTC itself! These thing also include not talking about date of other towers completions in the WTC site and other towers them selfs, if you want to talk about a certain building don't bring it into the wrong thread. This thread is titled "One World Trade Center" not the "World Trade Center Site"... Now back on topic please!

Alright CN, sorry for starting the fruit and veggies conversation.

Thanks for clearing everything up on the parapet and communications ring however. Great post.

I think the diagram needs to be updated. From what you've said, the steel placed today is for floor 105 and the next jump is the parapet.
We were 1,313 until today, if this steel was only for the 105th floor, it would be 1,334, meaning that this steel is a little over 20 feet. Obviously, this steel is taller than 20 feet. How tall, I don't know.

My guess is they're somewhere around the ~1,350 feet range. Perhaps there will be a row of steel at the top akin to what we've seen on 4WTC.

Yes that's what I was trying to get around to, which is why I said a portion of the steel could be part of the parapet steel but not all of it, like spectre said. That is also why I said we need confirmation as to what floor the steel is currently on. I never exactly said we were on the 105th floor I said we were perhaps in that range.
