I've been following this thread since 2009. I'm going to post a picture and link to a model that I threw together to give an idea of the parapet structure. I know that the louver wall above the 105th floor/roof should be tilted inward and there is a problem with two floors being unaligned with the horizontal mullions of the facade. It appears that new members can not post links. I'll try later today.

i wish they at least kept the old communications ring design, this new one looks like barbed wire. Plus to me the communications ring almost resembles a Halo.

I'm sure at some point in future happier times, the antenna and base cladding will be renovated or replaced. The original WTC wasn't even built with an antenna; it was added much later.

The original base was removed because it was impractical and a possible hazard. Plus, I think the new base cladding looks great. Certainly better than WTC7's base cladding.

If I'm not mistaken what's shown in that computer rendering, and what will be built, is the basic framework which will allow communication dishes to installed on it later. So what that shows is a communication ring, with no communication dishes on it.

It seems like there are three new parapet columns. One on the west side, one on the north, and another one I'm unsure about on the north side. Check out Carlos's new photo on skyscraperpage.

Yes, the underlying structure of the rings and spire are either the same or so minimally changed from the planned design that at a later date, although extremely unlikely, the radome could be added. It should be mentioned that realistically the antennas on the rings would never be symmetrical as seen in earlier renders. I've been looking at the new renders, the structures on the mast that are designed to hold the transmitting equipment in the future were also designed to hold the radome panels in place.

From my NYC trip this past week:

Up close and personal!

My last look at the tower as my train left yesterday...

I will try and come back in a few years once this, One57, and 432 Park Ave are done.
