I noticed that one being thicker earlier but just brushed it off as closer, thus bigger. My apologies. 9 and 7, even better.

^ I'd be tempted to look the other way until this thing gets topped out... they need all the manpower they can get.

Awesome, 10/16!

I'm willing to bet that the eastern corner node will be last... that pesky elevator shaft is blocking the way. I'm afraid that we'll end up in a situation where 15/16 parapet columns are in place and they take two weeks to put in the last one because of that elevator.

Let's hope not. There shouldn't be a delay of more than 1 week unless they wanted to top out on 9/11.

They should work on getting that antenna up by 9/11.

And don't these parapet columns need horizontal beams to tie them together? I haven't seen any... Even if all 16 columns are installed, it wont be "topped out" until all of those cross beams are in place right?

At the top of floor 105 they are connected, making the roof (This was shown in the first 2 beams placed). But I would also assume that there would be a connection near the very top.

Yep, just watched that one go in from Chinatown.

Judging by the position and inactivity of the cranes, it looks like they've wrapped up for today (at least steel-wise). My building is on Fulton so I'll be able to witness firsthand when each of the remaining five columns are placed.

Topping on 9/11 would definitely bring publicity... maybe attract tenants?

"We are glad to be moving into the buildings that symbolize America's strength, which spreads the message that we, as a nation, can grow strong when we are weakened. We are honored to be a part of the struggle to regain America's dignity and character by moving in to the new World Trade Center, which rose from the rubble and reached that irreplaceable spot in the sky. After a symbolic eleven years of despair, America has healed from its wound, and we come back stronger. Now buy our products, we spent a sh*tload of money moving into this place."

Minimum wage only goes so far. Probably since construction has been suspended recently due to rain and wind conditions.

They've been working on the weekends for a while now.
Besides, look how much progress, they have made.

So much activity going on the top of the building these past 2 days. I find it strange that is was stagnant for over a month and now it's suddenly picked up the pace.
