Will that elevator shaft complicate the installation of the eastern corner node?

I figure maybe you guys and girls would find this interesting if it hasn't already been posted.

"The steel might be topping out in July, but not the concrete," said Matthew Hummel, P.E., EFCO Northeast Regional Engineering Manager. "The final concrete slab is scheduled to pour at the end of October. My current schedule shows the core topping out on August 23."

That's old information from several months ago. Steel is going to be topped out in August or maybe September and concrete around October.

Don't believe what officials say, they don't know jack shit. They have been wrong on several different occasions. It will top out when tops out, probably within the next month or so. It's up to the weather and the iron workers that determine when the last beam will be placed and on what exact day.

I doubt September will be when the tower tops out. We only have 1 jump left!

The structure itself is at full height, so this was the last jump. Unless you count the communications ring...

The parapet steel is already in place, some of it at least. The tower is at its full height, and now only 105 and the parapet need to be finished.

Anyone know how the antenna will be installed? I don't think the Favco rigs on the tower can free stand without any struts.

Hi all.

I have been in contact with a long time member of the CTBUH that I hold in the highest regard.

The issue of when a structure is topped out is not written in stone and there are some varying opinions within the council. I am going to go with the opinion of the member I contacted ...

A structure is officially topped out when the final piece is in place of the highest structural or architectural components. So for this project, as soon as all of the horizontal beams of the parapet are in place, it would be topped out structurally at 1373' 8".

This is assuming the antenna won't be included in the height to architectural top.

Ray.

second week of August seems reasonable, earlier if the workers are as fast as they've been recently.

Here is the answer from our "insider" unfortunately sometimes this thread goes so fast with many useless comments, that interesting posts like this quickly disappear between tons of speculations..

If you want to see the spire or mast, since there are no antenna, the broadcasting element at this time, the photos of it being fabricated are www.adfgroup.com, and look at projects tab
