it is a square, but laf2 was trying to illustrate the case where the spandrel beams were bent.

Yeah, Kanto, it's a square. I was talking about the impracticalities of that shape. And do you understand that billgates? I know that's probably the worst diagram on this entire forum . I love that drawing. Can you explain post 35926 please?? Thanks.

So, the first "diagram" is redundant and you dont need to pay attention to that. The second is the view of the top of the building facing in any one of the four "cardinal manhattan streets directions." Corner node is in red and parapet column is in blue.

I finally realized that the posts are numbered.

I think you're just over thinking it. Do you mean because the corner nodes are angled, it's hard to fit the spandrel beams because the sides of the node incline?

NewYorkSkyline117,
1. Is 117 because of Spartan117? (sorry off-topic)
2. In the Novartis complex in East Hanover, a huge construction project is underway and at the Ridgedale Ave. entrance, the small building looks very similar to the WTC Transportation Hub. Have you ever seen it?

I just found out that you can see 1wtc from rt 80 at around mile 41.

Hopefully in the next few days, the cocoon can rise so it doesnt look like al qaeda chopped off part of the parapet, but I dont want it to top out next week because Ill be in MA.

Nope, I dont think so. If you want to make sure, go to google earth.

Actually, maybe, but its probably only a tiny bit of it. I never go on that section of Columbia because I usually take 287, 24, and the columbia going east.
My favorite place to see wtc and the ny skyline is the curled stretch of highway for the lincoln tunnel in Weehawken because its the right distance and often theres traffic, which is more viewing time. Garden state parkway is also good, but I rarely go east of the westernmost ridge of 1st watchung.
