Love the new panels and revision of the base. That antenna seems so grossly disproportionate in height but perhaps it's just the perspective. If it's the same height but of course not as thick as the original lattice I suppose that'd be enough to do it. It still seems like it'll end up "ok" though.

After travelling the world and visiting many super high rise buildings and towers I can't forget the feeling and marvel of the old roof top deck of the WTC 2. I am surprised this feature was not included in the new design ? maybe the effect on a much smaller roof with the ring and antenna would not have had the same amazing feeling so high with only sky above your head and the world at your feet..............

Any visitor to NYC will see how one of the original WTC towers looked in the context of the lower Manhattan skyline.

Of course the new tower is glassier and sleeker looking ... it is a 21st century building afterall, and the original WTC had a decidedly more 1970s look about it.
The top floor of the new tower is less than half the size of either of just one of the original towers. So no, it isn't just as wide.

If the top part wouldn't be an empty shell it might look good, but like this it looks as if the designer was frightened of heights
