That's all it will be, a rumor. Those people over at skyscraperpage are getting simple.

They're temporary structure extending from the core splices that will support one of the crane and a temporary platform). Check Alan's BIM image and PMadFlyer's infographics for detailed information.

Thats a great video, it really is! Most pictures i have never seen before, but when it gets to the construction part, I would suggest making it go faster! Nearly 6 minutes was just construction photos, try and narrow it to 2 or 3 minutes.

Every one, calm down! the core steel continues above the roof to allow the cranes to install the spire/antenna [RED], communication rings and cooling towers [YELLOW]. It's all temporary, the communications ring cannot be installed until the cranes [also YELLOW] are positioned on the temporary structure or "doghouse" as alan88 at SSP calls it, in the mean time the purple steel in my diagrams is what we will see being put up. The rings [BLUE] will be supported by cylindrical struts/columns ~12 feet from the perimeter and inline with the perimeter columns [PINK]. on my model I get ~160 feet above the roof/105th floor [ORANGE] for the highest point on the temporary steel and ~106' 4" for the top of the temporary deck assuming a 26' 8" vertical spacing between spandral beams on the temporary structure [AKA "doghouse"]. NOTE: The 105/roof slab IS NOT shown, but lies at the level of the orange steel.

Try not to let the trolls and attention whores get to you. 99.99% of us know what's really going on. And thanks for the renders. They're awesome!

From Wtc.com

Under the Port Authority's supervision, tower steel has topped out at the 105th floor with the installation of glass curtain wall above the 82nd floor and concrete floors poured above the 93rd floor. The elevator shaft fit-outs and spray-on fireproofing are both underway as are the utility installation and tie-ins. The "cocoon" safety system is now in place around the upper perimeter and will continue to rise with the building. The installation of the 408-foot-tall telecommunications spire is expected by end of summer 2012.

Its hard to say because there was about 500 different companies with offices in the complex during the 90s. Other than th PA itself most big tenants are different companies now as far as i know.
