When 1wtc is fully occupied, will it look like that every night? It lights are more white than yellow. I like it.

Most likely not. Once tenants are in place, I'm sure they'll have drawn blinds/curtains and no lights. Probably won't look too different from the way the Twins looked at night.

Great photos.

That building on the left badly needs a dimmer switch.

@nyarch all U/C buildings in NYC have those white-ish lights, but change to regular ones when they are complete.

That's the Goldman Sachs tower. I guess Goldman likes the attention.

This is a great example on how buildings' lights change from construction lights to your average lighting on a building.

image hosted on flickr

Bottom portion of North Tower:Fitted Lighting
Rest of the building:Construction Lighting
Also, look at 1Liberty Plaza;the same thing as the North Tower

Since 1WTC is mostly windows, the construction lighting is released even more but once the dimmer lighting system is installed we should expect something like this...

Honestly, if it weren't for ignorance and mass paranoia, instead of using multiple hydrogen fuel cells to slightly reduce demand on the utilities, they probably would have used a nuclear reactor. Recently there have been massive improvements in small scale, completely closed reactors that are cooled with liquid sodium and produce 5 to a couple hundred mega-watts. It would be safe and the demand on utilities would be far more reduced. Think of a naval reactor brought to land [with lower enrichment, further lowering the danger]. In fact, I read a Popular Mechanics article explaining the feasibility of having them in rural cities and even in urban areas a few blocks apart, I wouldn't mind living with one buried next door.
http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf33.html
It would make a lot of sense publicity-wise to have done it at this site. Yeah, Fox News would be preaching "There's a nuclear bomb inside the 'Freedom Tower'," or some ignorant comment about a nuclear melt down that could never occur [remember the Mosque at Ground Zero, I mean the Mosque that was expanding to become a multistory, open to every one, community center, that contained a mosque on a few floors; that was owned by a Jewish man, and located blocks away from the trade Center site. I'm pretty sure it was there first anyway]. I'd like to think of One World Trade Center as being America's way of saying "We won't let fear keep us from moving forward." Using new, safe, and efficient nuclear power in the world's safest building would show that we have learned from disaster how to build safer. Just my opinion and

The white construction lighting does look kind of nice, but who would want to work in an office with that kind of cold fluorescent lighting?

I agree, but towers and landmarks around the world waste energy with night time lighting. Do the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe need to be lit at night? Do the towers in HK need to project light displays?

The last floor slab, on which the antenna lies is already up quite some time. though they can't start assembly of the mast because the concrete core hasn't reached it yet
