Wow, that is one of the best videos of NYC I've ever seen! And it goes unnoticed here because of the stupid antenna/spire argument.

It is not the "french colour", but (red, white and blue) are also the colours of the american flag, The Star-Spangled Banner, the "old glory" !!

The French and especially the angevines use the same colours.

For example : the Flag of Charles Martel,
the angevine king of Hungary (but french)
during the Middle-Ages !! ( the13th century)

Looking at the KPI "Memorial Pools" View, if you scroll to the top of the base that's covered by the black tarp, you see the that they've fireproofed the steel, it's grey now

For the Netherlands and Luxembourg, it's also the french influence...

Blue for the river seine and the Dress of Mary mother of Jesus

Red for the people -worker and "nautes" (sailors)- of Paris and the flag of Saint-Denis, bishop of Paris

and Withe for the King and the colour of Joan of Arc's flag

Enough with the off-topic talk about which flags use these three colours. Obviously the lighting team of 1WTC didn't mean to represent the colours of Norway or Iceland with their choice.
