Yea I realized that after the fact, sorry to be rude. Anyways, farthest place I've found the building to be seen from with my own eyes is exactly 45.6 miles away. The cranes can also be seen portruding from the hill of the Columbia Turnpike in Morristown, NJ

Seen this on Wired New York.
From LMCCC:

The spire is being fabricated as 16 separate sections at a factory near Montreal, and will be transported by barge to New York City in mid-November. During its 11-day voyage, the barge will travel down the Eastern Seaboard and into New York Harbor to dock at Pier 25, at N. Moore and West Street.
Just after Thanksgiving, crews will begin to transport the spire segments one by one to the WTC site. Each one will be hoisted from the barge onto a 21-foot-wide truck specially designed to carry the sections feet and weigh up to 47 tons (about the weight of a full tractor-trailer). Upon reaching the WTC site, the spire sections will be assembled, piece by piece, at the top of 1 WTC.
Workers are currently installing a temporary steel framework at the top of the tower to support the spire during assembly. Two cranes will lift each spire section into place: one carries the section up to the 1,370-foot-high platform, and another lifts the piece into place onto the spire. The process is expected to conclude in early 2013, but the exact date will depend on weather during the operations.

Question- When will the communication ring begin?

^According to IrishInNYC we aren't going to see the spire until spring of 2013,but that doesn't mean they won't work on the mast. Thus,we should see the communication ring before the mast, sometime early December-Mid January.

The mast will begin construction after Thanksgiving and be completed in March 2013. So 4 segments of the mast will be lifted a month.

According to Irishguy over at Wired New York, he says that the communications ring will begin first, so the antenna segments won't go up until 2013

Get used to it dude. have you seen some of the other Chinese towers or the North Korean tower, they are never on topic.

This is nothing compared to those, so you shouldn't complain.

BACK TO TOPIC

Which firms have confirmed that they will be moving into this office tower?

This was posted on SSP by NYGuy, so big thanks goes to him for finding it and sharing it over there first. Show's not only who's leasing how much space, but where in the tower they'll be which I haven't seen.

People should realize that in the upper office floors, maybe the top 10 or 20 office floors, the Port Authority has an asking price of $100 per square foot so that's why it's filling from the bottom up. In addition, even if the PA lowers that to say $90 per sf, that could be tough space to lease not because of lack of demand but because of the price the PA is holding out for.

There is no way Durst/PA are gonna get $90-100 a sq ft for those upper floors. They're dreaming. The lower floors were netting only $55-65. Nobody is going to pay that when there is so much space available in the other WTC towers, WFC, etc.

The price for 3WTC's required 400,000 sq ft lease is only $60 a square foot. And it doesn't have to be in the lower floors. I wouldn't doubt Silverstein would give a tenant some upper floors just to get a lease signed and his public financing.

I'm not a pro in real estate but I too can't imagine a company paying 100 dollars for a square foot if they can get two square feet for them elsewhere. Is an awesome view in the employee's offices really worth double the cost?

I'm not believing one guy's information. I'm sticking with November because it makes absolitely no sense to build the communications ring first, it'll just be in the way. Let alone theres like no room between the parapet, 3 cranes, asupporting structure, etc.

And I think the title of the thread should be changed to T/O since according to the latest information the roof height will also be the official CTBUH height with the antenna not being counted
