There was a cooling tower at the base the week before last. I wasn't here to catch the second one.

The picture is really old though.

The 9/11 memorial hasn't even opened yet.

Looks like its from 2010.

If anyone had bothered their backsides to click the link where I posted the picture ( on the previous page ) , they'd know it was August 24th 2011.

There's lots of great photos on the link...all with descriptions.

I think they are the same size to the edge of the parapet panels. I think the actual holes are a couple feet smaller.

It's as if this person went back in time and filmed nearly every angle of the original WTC complex that I was curious about.

Moderators, feel free to move this post to a more appropriate thread.
I love how the towers were connected to everything, that complex was perfect.

New crane parts have arrived, probably for the new crane which will construct the spire/antenna mast!

This isn't intended as being argumentative in any way, it's just that the antenna on 1WTC has been an ongoing source of dispute and I don't believe it should be counted as part of the height based on the renders I've seen. If you look at a night time skyline photo of any big city you'll see that beacons are placed on top of anything that's potentially a risk for low flying aircraft.
Oh Gosh! You are going to begin another "is it or isn't it" war in here! lolol. The bottom line that no matter what your argument is, there are people that believe it should be counted in official height, and the there are people that believe it shouldn't be. Most important lesson to be learned? Never the two shall mix!

I am not to familiar with a M760 but they might need to add more mast to attach the climbing cage. What ever they are doing, they will need to take down the upper works from the 760 to add the mast

Also just remembered, this past weekend there was a mast section sitting on top of the decking, not sure if anyone posted a pic of it. It was on the north side of the tower

No that's probably a crane. The parts haven't even boarded the ship yet from Montreal. That wont be until November

The new complex is just about as interconnected as the old one, but in different ways. I wish it didn't shun 7WTC; they should build a sky-bridge or an underground passage between 6WTC and 7WTC.

How does a tower crane jump to get higher? Does the second crane lift the material to reassemble it? And what about the case when a skyscraper has just one tower crane?

If the rig is on the outside of the building a piece attaches to the existing masts (a jacking frame/climbing cage) the piece will grab the top part of the crane, the entire thing, and lift it up as it's unpinned from the rest of the mast. As there is no mast and only the frame holding it the crane will lift another piece of mast inside the climbing cage, lower down then pin it in. This is how I believe the crane that will erect the antenna will jump as there is no basket like they have now

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX-ZdPPUuhM

Heres a video showing how they jump the cranes that are inside the building
