My guess it was due to its masonry facade...was better able to take the beating.

It didn't catch fire either. Old 7 was actually very awkwardly built and damaged more. But yes, the Barclay Vesey building is very beautiful. One of the first art-deco buildings ever built. I like how it contrasted with the Twins and the new 1WTC. But I think the old 7WTC complemented it far better than the new 7WTC does.

If were going in the pecking order of favorite's... Here's Mine just for kick's and giggles,,, I Love Tower 2 THE BEST.. Tower 3rd,, 2nd (at height,, 1100ft), 1WTC,, 5wtc then 4WTC..

It took a beating, but it also required extensive repairs after the attack, to the tune of $1.4 billion. It fared better than 2/3 WFC did though.

Apparently no. 2 days ago I tried to find it but it wasn't in the proposed skyscrapers section, where it should have been. I think they removed it because 5WTC in the original form was cancelled
