I think they would. For example Pingan looks like the ESB and the Jakarta Tower looks like Chrysler (though far better than Chrysler)

Those buildings are to overwhelming in the new York skyline, maybe when a small development of supertalls are constructed, then you could built buildings of that height around that area to better blend into the New York skyline.

i don't like chrysler nor the ESB very much, yet love both of these project, i think both projects look very modern, dunno how you can compare them especially Ping'An is very glassy.

Quite outdated indeed. Several of the buildings have been already cancelled or are staled, and then there is the so far futureless Pentominium. And 1WTC won't be on that list because the CTBUH won't count its antenna to their height

i am still quite afraid CTBUH will count it to the height, like rule-bending saying because of the lighing rod thing or whatever

Possibly, If Bloomberg's zoning regulation proposal is accepted, we will be able to in Midtown East around GCT. It would need to be quite thin, though. I'm not sure whether we could currently outside the WTC. If we put a 400 foot spire atop 432 Park, then yes, but to the roof: I don't know...
