Hmph, I thought that some of the cooling towers were already in place, but I can't see them

Btw, to end the mech glass controversy, I have a render of STR, which shows that the mech glass begins at the top of floor 90 and ends near the top of floor 93

That is so wrong, there will be no vents at the plenum curtain wall, just empty spaces or slots.

Will they start installing the base cladding behind the black scaffolding, or will they first remove the scaffolding and install the glass afterwards?

I wonder how long itll take tenants to fill the building up let alone feel at ease in a building with any type of connection to the site.

There are certainly going to be some that will stay away. But others will be enticed to relocate to the WTC. 7WTC is right next door and it's 100% leased. Tower 7 is not the same as Tower 1, but it'll fill up.

Well, I personally would feel privileged, honored and lucky if I could work in a building of this prestigious and iconic status

You can add Abraj Al Bait and Ping An to that list too, as well as half the megatalls and almost megatalls in the planning stages.

There are just panels there that have glass that stops before the other side of the panel, there are no other modifications. The spandrels will be exposed.

Otie explained it to me when I had the same confusion when I tried to mirror 4WTCs vents.

World Trade Center Sues to Get Delivery of Antenna Steel

By Christie Smythe and David McLaughlin - 2012-10-12T22:21:01Z

ADF Steel Corp., a structural steel fabricator, was sued for allegedly failing to deliver materials needed to complete the antenna at 1 World Trade Center in Manhattan.

ADF is holding “hostage” steel that would form the spire on the structure because of an unrelated contract dispute, the building’s owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said in a lawsuit filed today in New York State Supreme Court.

“ADF refuses to ship this antenna steel unless and until it receives approximately $6 million allegedly owed under another project, as ransom,” the Port Authority said in the complaint.

At more than 400 feet, the antenna would allow the building, formerly called the Freedom Tower, to reach a symbolic height of 1,776 feet, according to a website for the construction project. It will be the Western Hemisphere’s tallest building and serve as a “symbol of recovery” after the so-called Twin Towers at the site were destroyed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, according to the complaint.

ADF had explicitly promised it wouldn’t withhold steel for the spire, which costs $10 million, regardless of the previous contract dispute, according to the complaint. About 100 ironworkers could be laid off if “they have no steel to erect,” the Port Authority warned.

Eric Ducharme, marketing director for Terrebonne, Quebec- based ADF Group Inc., (DRX) didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment on the lawsuit.

The Port Authority asked the court for an order requiring ADF to deliver the steel.

‘Iconic Character’

“Due to the iconic character of 1 WTC Tower and the enormous complexities surrounding its erection, leasing and opening, money damages cannot adequately compensate for the harm ADF is causing with every passing day that it refuses to deliver the antenna steel,” the lawyers said in the complaint.

The case is WTC Tower 1 LLC v. ADF Steel Corp., 653580- 2012, Supreme Court of New York, County of New York (Manhattan).
