Too clean of a cut for it to be any other thing beside the bringing down of the netting.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, seems like there trying to finish the cladding to the top before they worry about the bottom, just seems like they would try to get the high cladding done b4 winter hits and icy cold temps at that elevation, that's what I read somewhere,, can't exactly remember.

If they were going to take the netting down it would be down already.

^ They'd have to start somewhere, and base cladding is due to start this month.

I think that just the installation of the base cladding will make the area feel much more inviting, because nobody wants to see ugly black netting and an exposed concrete bunker every day while driving to work.

They might be taking down the netting, yet I'm doubtful. They would only take the netting down for that one side.

Maybe they will add the cladding behind the netting. and maybe that hole is just a way for worker to enter behind the netting. Then take down the netting to reveal the base with the cladding!

Ok I'm dreaming...

Apparently Obama and Romney were in town. The chopper pads are right over there so they probably blocked off the area for Marine One

Did anyone notice that half of Earthcam's feeds were partially blacked out? I don't know if it was a technical problem or not, but I assume that they didn't want anyone to see the helicopters or caravans passing by.

I agree..Nothing can replace the original WTC... Those fountains would be a nice symbol and memorial masterpiece for the old WTC footprint..at the same time, it would give NYC great open space that would surely become a landmark in the area..
