As they move up the building, that elevator will grow.

To your other point, I remember a diagram many pages back on the SSP forum that showed a different crane used for mast construction. The new one on the north point will haul pieces up from the ground and stage them on the roof. But the remaining tower construction crane is not tall enough to build the entire mast. Also, I think it is too close to the center of the building to build the mast. So I believe they have to move it to another point on the roof to continue construction of the mast. If I remember the diagram correctly, where they have built the temporary steel frame on the roof, there is a side that has taller pieces of steel sticking up. The other new crane will be attached there and braced to those taller steel beams for the mast construction.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions so detailed!

2 wtc's total height will be only 12 feet shorter then the south tower, 12 feet is not all that noticeable when your up that tall..

Welcome to the forums. I vote for the first option, and the second.

Maybe they can put a 12' tall flag pole on top of the triangular parapet of 2WTC. Why we're at it we can count 1WTC's antenna. who cares if the CTBUH doesn't count it. we can still advertise the Hell out of "the 1776' tall world trade center." Ignorance is bliss.

What are you talking about...? He's saying the structure for the antenna is for the parapet. And btw I heard that Tropical Storm Sandy could merge with a couple of fronts, and possibly rage into the city

This building has taken so long to build that I have lost interest.

Construction started in April 2006 and this building won't be ready until April 2014.

8 years.

Anybody know at what floor they will get rid of the black netting at the top of the tower? 4WTC did it when they were starting the cladding of the setback

News here is saying that the models now show it going well out to sea. Good. Don't want a hurricane, especially this late in the season. Baltimore was blitzed by Irene last year.
