Both mast erection and podium cladding will be completed by mid Q3 2013, figure beginning of fall.
The slotted glass begins at the 91st floor. Current progress is 2 floors below or 4 rows of glass.

Wow. I thought mast erection was only around 5 months long. It's a shame I won't see it complete. Thanks though, Otie.

It all varies on weather conditions, on a perfect scenario yes mast erection would take no more than 6 months, though there are always external factors that change the real date.

Thanks, Otie. Perhaps I'll luck up and see it finished or almost finished.

I have not seen any really good sunrises with the WTC.

The picture of foggy lower Manhattan is my favorite angle, is a stunning view but you'll never know how wonderful it is if you have never been there. Saying the skyline from Brooklyn is ugly and boring makes me think this guy has no taste.

However, fog has grown on me a lot. The banner last month of San Francisco in the fog was the best picture I have ever seen of the city. I would like this photo much more if there weren't gaps in the fog.

On topic: I am going to New York this fall and have been wondering: Will the spire be finished or almost finished, and will base cladding be completed? It seems they will be nearing completion then, but I am unsure.
I absolutely hate cloudless skies.... grey sky is the best, without rain tho.

The first time i have seen the skyline from a simmilar angle was, at the wooden pier next to the BK bridge. It was slightly raining, with low fog in the mid of the night, with the skyscrapers filling the fog with light. It was everything else but ugly and boring.

The only thing i hate about the new skyline (when seen from BK) which is in the making is, that the towers in the front appear so tall compared to the new trade center towers, that even WTC1 appears short. It gives me the idea of too short towers for that location, even though they perfectly blend in and balance out an rather flat skyline, with the antenna of WTC1 being the dramatic peak of this manmade mountain aka skyline.

Why so long aren't they building the spire? Are they waiting for materials? I apologise for my English
