It looks like the new crane structure is being assembled right now.

I still like the older antenna design, but looking at the sections being shipped they actually look pretty cool and should look really intimidating up on the tower.

The ring will be installed after the antenna, right? I mean, it can't be assembled before the antenna since the crane platform for the antenna erection crane is now where the ring will be.

I told you all it would be grey, and not brown!

I like the steel work that makes up the antenna. Nice details, there.

Looks like those are sections for the lower structure, so the real visible part will be less thick.

I wonder what the ratio of width is for this antenna to the former north tower antenna? Is it thicker?

I can't understand one thing: why do they need the 3rd crane?

Stop confusing people, please. It's NOT topped out until the last piece of the antenna/spire is in place. The building is a whole

Only if they count it as a spire and not an antenna mast, officially that is. I agree with you personally, it doesn't take a system of huge cranes, barges, and street barricades to move and antenna. Also the mast is incorporated into the architectural design of the building. Lastly, a video of the sections being loaded onto the barge shows that the steel is still equipped with the anchors and bolt holes needed to add a radome in the future. I also had an epiphany, if they were to fabricate a lightweight frame in the shape of the original radome, they could design it to be literally zipped into place, the workers could climb the ladder to the section in question. unfold a triangle of Kevlar fabric with zippers on the edges from a pouch on their personal fall protection and place it without the need for risky lifts or the use of tools. I doubt a piece of cloth could do any damage if it fell [and it would possibly reduce icing on the bare steel].
