The new one should be up by Tuesday at the very latest (depending if they work Friday) They already started putting together the boom down below.

The antenna barge is passing Clark's Harbour Nova Scotia right now

Does this mean that the comm ring won't be installed until the completion of the antenna mast and the removal of the platform? I don't know if the TG-1900 will be able to lift the pieces for the south corner while staying in a safe radius.

Edit: I have NO idea whats going on, this isn't the TG-1900, and therefore IS NOT the crane that will be used for the spire. The ONLY thing I can imagine that would not completely change the plans would be if this crane's only purpose is to erect the TG-1900... only one problem, it looks to be on the part of the platform designed to receive the TG-1900 and I don't believe there is another place able to support a crane. I could really use a picture from any

The center where a small box of larger beams are located is the planned location for the TG-1900. This M760d is throwing a wrench in things.

^Another thing is I am almost 100% positive the new Favco doesn't have a basket below it to climb and it doesn't have a climbing cage on the mast

Here is a pic I took Monday from Staten Island, the best but better then nothing

And FYI, the barge with the antenna is due in town Friday November 30. She's rounding the Magdalen Islands near Nova Scotia at the moment.

Barge carrying One World Trade Center spire en route from Canada to New York

Even Santa’s sleigh couldn’t carry this gift.

A barge carrying eight sections of what will be the massive spire on top of One World Trade Center is en route from Canada to New York this holiday weekend, as these pictures show.

The eight sections — which left Quebec on Nov. 16 — range in weight from five to 67 tons and are expected to arrive in Port Newark sometime next week. Once there it will be transferred to Manhattan.

Ten smaller sections will be sent down from Canada in December to complete the spire.

That is a stunning angle! You can see WTC1 from the base to the top, no obstructions, and a nice step effect with the other WTC buildings and the Goldman Sachs building increasing in size as they go back. This is one of the best photos of lower Manhattan I've seen, though it's a bit misty.

Itīs interesting to see 123 washington being completely overshadowed by bldg # 1 and 4, while it was sort of a focal point upon itīs completion.

EDIT: I was a hater of the WTC design, now i love it.

Many people, including me,were haters of the new WTC mostly due to denial.I just love the new WTC,maybe even more than the old one,and NewYorkSkyline117's clearly shows why.
