If nobody answers, it should be that nobody knows, really.

To all the people that repeatedly ask for that information, please, either do the research for yourselves or just wait for it to happen, it is not like is a matter of life or death.
If nobody answers, that doesn't officially mean no one on here knows...Otie knew obviously but maybe others just don't feel like replying.

What bothers me more than Durst removing the spire enclosure is the apparent lack of effort on architect David Childs's part to remedy the situation. I know he said he would try to work with the PA and Durst on an alternate design but that was back in May when the decision was made public about the spire/antenna.

But since then, Childs has kept mum, which has led me to believe that he caved into Durst like the PA has. I will not try to jump to conclusions and make an actual judgement once the antenna is fully erected. This tower isn't slated to open until 2014, so yet another last minute change would be of no surprise to anyone considering the history of this project.

But would Childs really give up on his design like that or do you guys think there might be some positive behind-the-scenes work that's not ready for the limelight yet?

Everything seems to have started two months behind schedule ever since that two month pause last January/Feb.
I'd say base cladding will start in December, hopefully.

Interesting mirage effect. Some of the buildings appear to be floating in air (but not 1WTC).

Seems like everything is going to be starting in December. Let's hope the light at the end of this tunnel isn't a train.

This will look completely different when base cladding is complete. Is January still a reasonable time for the glass facade to be completed?

It's painful sometimes seeing how slow this construction process is. I guess that's just how it is with such a sensitive project.

Everyone wants their share,to forever cement their names,in this valuable and historic site.If it weren't for power and greed than maybe we could have had a completed WTC site by now.
