Great shots! Here is a bigger version from the facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater):

The new white crane doesn't look really stable to me, why didn't they use any fixture (or mounting or however it's called), something like the yellow steel which holds the transportation hubs new crane in position? Or does it only lift the lighter pieces at a very short range, so that something like that is not necessary?

Yup, it has. I remember news that the concrete has reached its full height

It's fine the way it is, and just look at it like this, the 432 Park Ave crane has about double the amount of mast and is free standing still

I see the beginning of the communications ring. Its next to the cooling tower on the left side of the tower, I might [big might] change the design of the comm ring in my model to match the actual construction.
We can now confirm no climbing basket on the new Favco so I assume it can erect the antenna without jumping, was it me or the antenna was suppose to be taller?

Some of the black netting is being peeled back off of the base scaffolding in the SE corner. I wonder if we could begin to see more visible signs of progress in the base cladding soon.

They can always add a climbing frame later. Doesn't have to be done when the crane is installed.

if it was going to jump, it would have been installed already.

if they wanted to put a frame on now they would have to break it down.

Yep that's right, but happens all the time here. Have a look at the photos in this thread.

There was a job on the Gold Coast in Australia where the two cranes shared a frame.

Here's a good Q regarding the antennae:

How much more significant will it be to the overall building than the original twin towers?? Not just height, but width and mass too?

Meaning, the original wtc had a dinky one, hardly even noticeable. But, the new wtc1, will have a massively larger one than the last original wtc, correct?

I assume that the new wtc1 will have a much different overall vibe and look from around the city, because of the humongous antenna that's both much taller and wider than the original.

I recently just moved back to the city, and the wtc1 is enourmous..and, I keep trying to imagine what it must look like with a huge antenna on top of it (and also waiting in anticipation for the darn thing to me mounted already).

Can you guys make a graph or render, comparing the original antenna to the new huuuge one? Maybe a comparison render/drawing with the antenna + overall building's height, just the very top of the tower + antenna..and maybe throw in another witht he full view as well if you like

I might just have a North Tower antenna model laying around that I haven't looked at in well over a year. I'll look at it over the weekend if I still have it and I'll try to copy paste it next to the 1WTC antenna for you.

The KPI camera atop 7WTC is back up, too bad it's not quite at the same angle it was at before.

Well, from what I know the new antenna will actually be considerably thinner than the final antenna on the North Tower. Which is good in my opinion considering the fact that the roof of the new 1WTC is far smaller than the roof of the old 1WTC. Here is a SSP diagram of the two buildings:
