Fiterman Hall looks pretty good at night, never seen it in reality, though

Perhaps they are planning to paint once all the pieces are joined at the top. My reasoning behind this is that the paint could get scraped off during the lifting/joining process. But in saying this it wouldn't be hard to touch up if they did paint it prior to lifting. Hmm...

Is there any chance of adding the white outer covering in the future?

Only if they land the plane on 2-3 I have a good feeling that, they will be stalled at this lack of height for YEARS..... And for the person who thought that was a typo,, they did say ,5 ton pieces and up to 67 ton pieces.

And if they did paint it, wouldn't they have to repaint it every so many years or decades?

Did anyone notice how they won't let the pieces rest on the ground? They have stands for them, even on the trailer to haul them. I wonder why

I've only seen one piece on a stand and that was the very top(beacon cage) and you would have to prop it up or it would roll around on the ground and get all messed up. As far as on the trucks once again i only see the pieces laying on wood which keeps the pieces from rubbing against the trailer and also adds a light "cushion" in transit vibrations. Some of the others look like they are standing up against the building on a metal platform and that looks like they are just keeping them safely out of the way.

I doubt it. They just poured concrete that will support the antenna today, it has to "cure"

I don't think that matters the Port Authority among others including on this forum who are very reliable have said the first piece will be lifted early tomorrow morning...and since tomorrow's weather looks to be nice and sunny it should be a historical day

What I mean is on the metal matting at the site, and even on the trailer to transport them to the site they built a custom platform for them. Odd that they would go out of the way like that each time

To bad the earth cams are not in the correct positions

I'd say the stuff on the trailer is equipment that will be used to stabilize the different pieces of the spire from the barge trip over to the wtc site. Your correct about the stupid earthcam cams. I spent about 45 minutes earlier tonight calling people i know in Manhattan to see if they could get some pics of the transport process but they either have to get up early for work or its to damn cold out

i'm sure there will be some pictures up soon so we can see exactly how it was done
