Maybe they need for some reason the top of the building uncladded for now. Something with pouring or antenna/ring transportation. But that is all just a guess

As you can see in this photo(from Downburst on ssp), the top section of this corner has been squared off, and hopefullay base cladding can begin soon.

Probably due to the fact they're near the mechanical floors. Things always slow down for those.

They are just doing some maintenance work on their cameras during the next week. I spoke with someone at Earthcam and that is what they told me.

Look at the edges, you can see silverish steel jutting out from the diagonal columns.

That seriously made no sense and to be honest, no one even wanted to hear your negative opinion on the antenna.

Anyways, weather doesn't look too great on Tuesday for the first installation

How much you wanna bet they call this a spire, because Durst-bag will have the CBTUH on his F'n Payroll!!!! He'll complain symbolicy and therefore, fork over millions for the CBTUH, to look the other way and they will give this idioit what he wants........... F'n Sickening, it's an antennae, I see them all over my city,, never saw a radome though.

There was an issue with something on the barge so only one piece was delivered tonight but they plan on bringing three pieces over tomorrow night. Also the truck had to back down Barclay and Washington Streets and it did seem like it went smoother than Tuesday nights delivery. I was told the deck on this piece is temporary.

I hope not, but I wouldn't bet on it. The CTBUH should have declared it an antenna the day the scrapping of the radome was officialy announced. The fact that they still didn't declare it an antenna is very suspicious

Don't hold your breath. Currently, the CTBUH won't consider a building officially ranked until is completed, even though it has been topped out and has made its mark on a city skyline. This policy may apply to when they make a decision the mast. Here is one of their statements released last May:

At this point, since the building is far from completion, there is no final determination on the height of One World Trade Center. A final determination will be made by the CTBUH Technical Height Committee based on analysis of the drawings and other information submitted by the building owner, development and consultant team. Building designs often change during construction and final ratification of the height and formal recognition on the list of 100 Tallest Completed Building in the World occur after the building is officially completed and application details submitted.
