Cool, in this picture Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and Jersey City's skylines are blended all together in one.

I am looking forward to seeing the ''new New York'' in ten years time.

New York is building great modern towers at the same time, they are blending these new towers in with the old. Its going to look excellent in a few years time. Downtown and Midtown really do set the standards for the rest of the world.

Its going to be splendid and set the world alight as it has done time and time again.

New York is back baby.

To me, 1WTC looks the largest from the Waterfront and Breezy Point. I love those photos NYBOY. You are a lucky man!

The Jersey City-Hoboken Waterfront? Definitely Breezy Point-Rockaway from when I was there in November...but the waterfront doesn't really make the tower that ominous because of the angle and position of Goldman-Sachs/WFC

I just hope they can get to WTC 2 & 3 within that time frame.

Yeah, that's probably my favorite angle. I think this photo does the view justice:

Thanks, that's another example of what I was talking about. That exact angle can't be beaten.

I hope so to but to be honest 1WTC and 4WTC will make the skyline look amazing anyway.

2 and 3 WTC will very much so add to the skyline and make Lower Manhattan higher. 1 and 4 will look great on their own and once 2 and 3 are done, it will be a bonus

An unintentional reminder, isn't it? I wonder how many regular pedestrians that pass that point notice it...

That is definitely not the most dominating angle, from Staten Island Ferry and Breezy Point-Rockaway definitely show the domination, as seen in NYBoy's pictures above.

It's debatable. I like the other two a lot as well.

It's pretty dominating from those two places, the waterfront just has an angle where it is cut off most of the way by the WFC. NyBoy's photo does it justice:

This is my attempt at making one of those neat renderings you sometimes see in an advertisement or presentation. This took a lot longer than expected, so I might not ever do this again. I worked on the antenna mast base.

Antenna tip with lightning rod, to scale, from prints.

First attempt, using my new base, which is available to SketchUp users through the 3DWarehouse

The base, this took three renders and an hour.

The roof with the new antenna and updated temporary dog house to match the new photos of the roof. Took 2.5 hours, and 7 renders [three to correct for discrepancies among the faster, medium, and finer transparency settings, and the weird render that I'm saving for last.]

What happens if you try to open and use other programs while rendering a 33.5 mb SkethUp model and you run out of RAM.

From where do you get all of the measurements?
