Indeed disrespectful. But writing on walls and everything happens at every construction site.

I guess they know it is going to be covered up with paint or whatever so it doesn't matter that much.

Well, a few years ago here we wanted to change the wallpaper, so we ripped of the old wallpaper from the previous residents. There were some nasty words written on the wall. Btw, bad wether in NY I see.

I hate to inform the naive french lady in the article that calls this a "Holy Site", but probably 90%+ of all men's restrooms have stupid sexist/racist crap written or scratched onto the doors and walls. It's unfortunate and immature, but it's temporary and wouldn't even be known about, if not covered in the news like some sensationalist exposé that's only meant to gain attention and ratings. Now....hopefully we can get back on topic.

Yeah it's sad to hear that the construction workers are writing all this racist/sexist nonsense in One World Trade Center but honestly what does it matter? I say since these people are working on the Tower they could write whatever the hell they want, it's part of their 1st Amendment rights so screw it. When did everyone in America become so sensitive that people bitch about what other folks say or write? After all this Tower did at one point have the name "Freedom Tower." Then again people have the right to complain/express their opinion too so it balances out. They're doing a great job with the Tower, so let's just admire the great work they are doing on it.

People who are hurt over what they write should go check out the 100's of other sites as well.... They would have a heat attack

Anyway, the hook on the rig twisted up:

I agree with you, those writings might be just a joke, a joke that will be covered so I don't really see anything bad about them. If the workers would officialy proclaim those things in TV it would be bad but this is just a kind of an urban joke/art, pretty much like graffiti

Racism and sexism isn't a very funny joke, nor is it urban humor.

The shit people bitch about

Honestly who gives a rats ass what they write? They know it will never be seen by the general public and i'm sure the foreman walk by the stuff daily and could care less. Hell, even our worthless president (of our homeowners association, for you sensitive bitches ) wrote something on a beam that will be 1000ft in the air and never seen by the general public. I say if those guys are brave enough to build this tower as high as it is, let them write whatever the hell they want. As others have said, it happens on everything. I know you guys have seen stuff etched into concrete from 30 years ago. They are not hurting anyone and if anybody is offended by anything they write, then they can take their sensitive asses up there and scrub it off before its covered up.

What are we gonna bitch about next? The landscaping around the tower or the way the parking spots are angled?

Jeez guys

Worthless President? Whatever negative feelings you have against him, that has nothing to do with it in any way whatsoever, so why don't you keep your gratuitous partisan political garbage OUT of this thread... back on topic.

My age is not hidden like others and I have given the last 20 years of my life fighting for this country so YOU are able to have your OWN opinion about your President. I damn sure am going to voice MY OPINION as i feel fit.

Thank You!!

Exactly. I look at it and wonder how many other construction sites has stuff wrote on them all over the world. Even the original twins probably had stuff wrote on the beams when being built. Boys will be boys.

Get over it and move on people. Put this thread back on topic.

Can we take the political garbage elsewhere please? Really not the place for it, take it to the Skybar.

About the graffiti, this ain't nothing new. Hell, they found beer cans (Schlitz and PBR!), cigarette butts, and graffiti that workers had left in steel beams from the original towers.

I don't know why he thinks he has the right to bring political nonsense into a construction thread.

You're not as privileged as you believe.

Ugh. I still think they would do something about the graffiti. I would not even take foot in the bathrooms knowing that there were reminiscences of racism and sexism. Shows how much of an ******* some people can be..

Why can't people just enjoy their jobs just like they do in some other eastern countries. They are building one of the most important buildings in American history. It just goes to show that most people in America take everything for granted.

It has nothing to do with America. It happens all over the world. Its called ''men being men'' and it happens everywhere. Its mostly just banter anyway. It happens in Europe, Asia, America and everywhere else.

Would you use the toilets in a supermarket or a shopping center or even work? Because 9 times out of 10, there is something written on one of the beams there to.

Its not a big deal and people need to get over it. Calm down people and talk about the positives of this building and not the negatives. There has been a lot of that going around lately.
