Well, deadline is exactly three months after what you estimated. Now please give me the lotto numbers.

I am new here, have been following the forum for awhile before I joined. I'm thrilled with how 1wtc is turning out. It looks amazing and when the glass is all installed it will be even more amazing. I am glad they went with this design which in my opinion is SO much better than all of those early hideously ugly proposals. This will be surely be known as David Child's tower, and rightly so. Thank god we didn't get those dreadful Liebskind proposals. It's not perfect, but I have been very pleasantly surprised as the tower's completion gets closer. I think it will be an icon for the city. It's not perfect, but is is very pleasing to the eye and really takes back the skyline in my opinion.

Does anybody know whats going to happen to the radome parts are the parts going to be destroyed or put in storage, either way both options are going to cost a pretty penny.

I'm pretty sure those are at the observation level. However it looks be an optical illusion. The pane is perpendicular to the line of sight. I don't know how the tracks for the wind washer could line up otherwise. Also, the panes of that floor that are already installed align with the panels below.

questions

Questions:

How deep into the bedrock did they drill to stick the first Beams in?

Im talking way back in 2006 when the stuck that first white beam in. They welded it to another beam that was imbeded into the bedrock and only a tiny bit stuck out. How deep was that buried?

The slits at the top-- are they open to the elements? they look like open windows.

Foundations are 80ft below grade, while rock anchors extend other 80ft further below.

The slots are indeed open, but a second louvered wall -yet to be installed by Benson- protects the mechanical equipment from anything flying around.
