It's just snow or moisture on the camera. Look back and you can see it was completely blocking the view earlier today and has been slowly melting away.

Great to see significant glass progress. This tower has taken way too long to build compared to the twins, but now that the finish line is in sight, it's exciting. This tower should be the strongest most indestructible skyscraper ever built.

As I love to say, it'll be the tallest bunker in the World

I've asked this before, but I'm sure opinions have changed by now. I really don't mean to offend anyone in this, but could this tower withstand what had happened on that day with all these modifications to the design?

If such a disaster happens again as on 9/11 there will be a lot of lives saved that's for sure I hope. But I think that the building would be taken down (with machines ofcourse) after all because of the internal and structual damage that can't be repaired. A huge part of the tower would be disclocated after such an enormous force of energy.

That is what I think of it...

Maybe, but the fire will be smaller and will be extinguished, and all the people under and above the hole will be saved, which is far more important than the building itself.

Also note that One World Trade Center has far less perimeter columns than the original World Trade Center so there is no more grid of steel akin to a mosquito netting. If a plane god forbid slams into it like on 9/11 the exterior would be in trouble while the core will most likely remain in tact because that core is the ultimate.

Totally agree buddy. The most important thing is the lives will be saved. A building is a building and can always be redone or replaced. A dad, brother, mother, son, daughter cant be replaced.

A building at the end of the day is just a building or as I like to say, an engineers wet dream

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like some of the base curtain wall is going up on the south east corner where the squaring off steel is. You can see it on the Memorial Pools KPI TV cam.

Spire sections 301-303 weighing a jaw-dropping 178.5 tons are now in place atop One WTC.
